Kia Motors India dealerships have started taking pre-booking for the recently unveiled Kia Seltos. Kia dealers in Gurugram and Bengaluru are accepting registrations for the Seltos for a token amount of Rs 25,000. Official registrations are expected to begin next week by July 16 and the Kia Seltos is expected to be officially launched in India on August 22, 2019.
The upcoming Kia Seltos SUV is based on the SP2i compact that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, in Delhi India. The SUV will be manufactured locally at automaker’s new facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Seltos will be produced here to not only meet the domestic demand but also shipped overseas to markets like America, the Middle East and other parts of Asia. Exports of the SUV begin by the fourth quarter of 2019.
From outside the front, the mid-size SUV will have the iconic grille with full LED headlamps on the front. It will also come with vertically housed LED fog lamps. On the rear, the car will be equipped with LED taillights and dual exhaust pipes. Along with 17-inch five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, the compact SUV will come with roof rails and shark fin antenna.
Inside the cabin, the new Kia Seltos will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen audio video navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The compact SUV will also get features like 8-inch HUD (Heads Up Display), blind-spot view monitor, EPS (Electronic Power Steering), eco coating, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and push-button start/stop.
On the safety features front, the car will carry multiple airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and BA (Brake Assist), reverse parking sensors and camera, the compact SUV also gets VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System) and HAC (Hill-start Assist Control). There will be a 360-degree camera as well.
Kia Seltos will be available with three BSVI compliant engine options. There will be a 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol mill churning out 140 hp and 242 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre petrol motor will make 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre diesel powertrain will deliver 115 hp and 250 Nm of torque. All the three engines will come with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. There will be a 7-speed DCT on offer with 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol, CVT with 1.5-litre petrol and 6-speed torque converter with 1.5-litre diesel.
As per the list, Kia will have multiple dealerships in top cities such as Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Pune. Locations of Kia dealerships in various states such as Rajasthan, Kerala, Gujarat, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal have also been provided.
The Kia Seltos is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
