Kia Seltos Ruling the segment with 15,000 sales figure in first month of 2020.
The Seltos has tripled its sales over the previous month in Indian Car market since its launch in August 2019. Kia rules the segment with a market share of more than 50%.
In January 2020, the Seltos gets its best monthly sales ever with 15,000 units with equal fuel split;
7,420 Diesel Models.
7,580 Petrol Models.
This performance beats the previous best of 14,005 units in November 2019 and helps it regain the title of best-selling SUV, which it had lost to the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in December. In its six-month period, the Seltos has taken the top spot on the Mid Range SUV sales list in three months – October 2019, November 2019 & January 2020.
On 1st January, Seltos Price hiked by Rs 35,000 – the 18-variant model is now priced between Rs 9.89 – 17.34 lakh. The 1.5-litre petrol engine models are now priced between Rs 9.89-14.09 lakh, which means an increase of Rs 20,000 for the base HTE variant and Rs 30,000 for the higher-spec variants. The more powerful turbo-petrol model is priced at Rs 13.79-17.29 lakh, dearer by Rs 30,000. The diesel Seltos receives the highest mark-up of Rs 35,000 and now bears a sticker price of Rs 10.34-17.34 lakh. But that’s hardly matters, as it doesn’t affected the sales figure of Unstoppable Seltos.
While other automobile manufacturers struggled last year due to a number of other factors, Kia Motors debut with the Seltos & highlighted as a Head Turner in Indian Car Market. Kia had managed to post consistent sales last year and topped it off with over 14,000 units in the month of November. More than 60,000 units of the Seltos have been sold already and the bookings have received beyond one lakh milestone as well.
