MG Hector Plus is a six-seater variant based on the Current Hector unveiled at AutoExpo 2020. MG Motor India has now announced that the six-seater Hector will be launched in India in July-August 2020.
What’s new in Design…
From Design part of view the MG Hector Plus receives updates to the exterior in the form of a new fascia. The side profile may get new set of Alloys while the rear features a new LED tail light design and a new bumper. Also the Red Insert In between Taillights was missed in Plus Version.
What’s new from outside…
From Exterior, it looks pretty much similar to the MG Hector, but some of the new elements added. First one the size of the vehicle is slightly bigger than than the MG Hector in terms of length, specifically 40 mm. This means the Hector Plus measures in at 4,695mm in length (40mm longer than the Hector) while its height and width are unchanged, at 1,760mm and 1,835mm respectively. We will find out that the front look is updated and is cleaner than the Hector. The front gets different headlamps and LED DRL setup than Hector, new front bumper, fog lamps with chrome highlights and a new chrome grille. It gets a new dual-exit exhaust design
What’s new in Interiors…
The showcased model was a three-row 6-seater version with pilot seats in the middle row. However, it will also to be available in 7-seater version at the launch time. The interior is expected to have slight cosmetic tweaks, to distinguish it from the Hector. The quality of the upholstery and plastic is expected to be premium over the Hector.
Features are expected to be similar to the MG Hector. It is expected to have MG’s iSmart Internet connectivity, 10.4-inch touch-screen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, etc. Safety features includes 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, 3-point seatbelts and fatigue reminder and so on. The top trims will be offering more premium features like panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate.
What will the Powertrains be like…
The Powertrain options on the Hector Plus is likely to be same BS-6 Compliant as the Hector. The engine options include total three- 2.0-litre diesel, 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with a 48V mild hybrid system. The 2.0-litre diesel engine is capable of producing around 170 bhp and 350 Nm torque. While the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 48V mild-hybrid 1.5-litre turbo-petrol produce about 143 bhp and 250 Nm peak torque. The gearbox options are also expected to be similar to the Hector. The options include a 6-speed manual for all the engines, while the petrol model gets 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox option as well.
